Nick of Time - "Faust Us"

This rhyme is loosely based on Christopher Marlowe's play "Doctor Faustus". The play involves a very intelligent man who has mastered law, medicine, and physics but is disatisfied with all of his achievements. As a result of his disappointment he sells his soul to the devil in exchange for 24-years of getting anything he wants.

(When it comes to stealing our victims, heaven never wins) ~

Whoda thought I'd be inspired to rhyme by English lit ~

(Ya "slovenliness" is "deadly", direct to hell... ya punk-ass) ~

Recognised by hip hop, the best in the game ~

I like the rhyme, some nice multis ans hit, It was rather deep shit than ill, But Nice, I like the second part the best.

I read "Doctor Faustus" and i believe that your allusion to it was well done, u made a new interpretation of this masterpiece, that's called in litterature "intertextuality" ( i think it is how this word is written on English?). I call it the art of makin something good and new over something good done in the past. Keep at it!

Really, AMC? Thanks for the compliments. I personally think that if Marlowe had had more time to work on his craft  before he got killed at age 25 he would be a greater playwrite than Shakespeare. I think he's the better poet and that his storytelling is pretty cool too. He certainly did a lot of revolutionary things with the stage space that Shakespeare never attempted, he just died before his prime.

To those who don't know, Marlowe was supposedly a double-agent working against the British government so they had the "secret service" stab him through the eye in the middle of a planned bar fight. Gangsta!

But i must say that Gil Vicente in the Middle Age( Moyen Âge in French, i'm not sure of these words in English...lol) did as good in Portugal (no beef), you must read "Auto da Barca do Inferno" were he shows how vicious the portuguese society was in that period... I don't know if there are any translations available (lol) ... But if u want i can send u by mail a "resumé" translated by me in french.
