Man Allegedly Fakes Kidnapping To Pay For Drugs (LMAO)
« on: December 18, 2008, 08:35:51 AM »
A guy calls his dad and fakes his kidnapping for $3,200 to pay off drug dealers... Sheriffs catch him... and now he is locked away with bail set at $50,000?  :D

Detectives say a Rolling Hills Estates man who allegedly told his elderly father he was kidnapped and abductors would kill him if a $3,200 ransom wasn't paid was actually desperate to pay off a drug dealer.

Andrew Davis allegedly called his 76-year-old father Saturday, telling him kidnappers planned to kill if the ransom wasn't paid.

The Sheriff's Department was called and deputies moved in when the money drop was made.

Detective Randy Oviedo says the 47-year-old Davis needed to pay off a drug debt.

Davis and alleged accomplice, 44-year-old Ronald Hohman, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to attempted elder abuse and attempted grand theft.

A Torrance Superior Court judge set bail at $50,000 for Davis and $80,000 for Hohman.
