although the amount of hip-hop that inspires me these days seems to be getting fewer and farther between, there is still plenty of music that moves me. the below are a few of the songs that came out this year that made me want to get behind a mic. for one reason or another--be it the lyrics, the beats, the concept or the person--these are some of this year's best examples of quality hip-hop.

Really? I dont think i would go that far, I liked "Gangsta Like me" better than "Let it out" and "Waste my time" on Ego Trippin.  But "Gangsta Like me" is prolly the worste track on the list....

I was just bumpin Restless yesterday and it made me realise how much i miss X. Id love to see him bakc with Em, Nate, Dre and Snoop again on his new album. A couple Battlecat beats and some stuff by the Alkaholiks would be nice as well.

Yeah i would have said i was suprised to see jay rock and guilty on that list but on xzibits latest blog he said he was in the studio recently with jay rock recording new tracks and helping with his music, he mentioned young de and bishop as well but jay rock and x on the same track would be quality
