He was still selected first overall, so i dunno if he's "far from a bust"...Right now, he's looking like a lottery player, but not a 1st overall selection.

NIK when you say he's not #1 pick material are you referring to Duncan, LBJ, Iverson, Shaq, etc? Cause he ain't having the same impact those players had for their teams back in the days, no doubt. But in the last 10-15 years we've seen horrible #1 picks like Olowokand, Bogut, Kwame Brown.. and a lot of good players who was never been All-Stars, like Joe Smith. Plus a lot of #1 picks were probably not the best ones available from the draft that year (Oden?). I mean it's complicated. Keep in mind the #1 pick is always dangerous, cause if you don't select a Duncan franchise-type of player people will criticize you for years. And the player will be labeled as a bust for all his career. Andrea is a good player, he's still young, he's still improving, and he'll have a nice NBA career. I'm proud of him. It wasn't easy to show his potential when people were dissing him.. but he's doing it. And i've told you a lot of times he just needed time, remember that? He used to be a star here. It wasn't easy to be a nobody in the States and to prove everything from zero. Those players needs time. Anyway 2007 wasn't been a draft full of superstar players who deserved to be in his place. Exept from my man Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge the other ones were not exciting at all.. and that's the main reason why Bargani went to #1. There was no LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony that year. Not even a Greg Oden or a Kevin Durant. Jesus, players like Adam Morrison (3), Shelden Williams (5), O'Bryant (9), Sene (10) were in the top-10!!! It was an overall dispecable draft year.

^^^Oden is a bad example in this case. He was the consensus #1 pick. People forget he is coming off that microfracture surgery and its still his rookie year. Everybody struggles after a microfracture, and rookies almost universally struggle in their first year in some way or another. We wont see the real Greg Oden til next year.

I know, but the pressure will be very high on him. Exactly like it was high on Andrea, with him being Italian and shit. People will compare him to Durant, to Al Horford, and he will have to fight those ghosts through all his career. It ain't easy being a #1 pick. That's what i'm saying. It wasn't a diss to Oden, man.

He's Italian, i am Italian, we see things from another prospective. Andrea will never be an Hall-Of-Famer, and he'll probably never be an All-Star. But it ain't his fault if he got selected with the #1 pick and not with the #3 like he deserved.

#1 Brandon Roy
#2 Lamarcus Aldridge
#3 Andrea Bargani

That's how the draft should have been. Andrea is a #3 draft pick who went probably too high. Just like Danilo Gallinari is probably a #8 draft pick who went too high. But you guys were talking like he was a Kwame Brown or Mike Olowokandi type of bust, and he isn't.

im sayin, when somebody says a player had a "nice career" thats like sayin....."he was...eh, i dont wanna be rude....so i'll just say 'nice'" lol

I got your point, just saying his case is pretty unique and its not really fair to put him in that category with guys like Kenyon Martin and Joe Smith in terms of value as a #1 pick. He may very well end up being of that ilk but its not the right time to make that call on Oden.
