Dr.Dre is prolly laughing at yall now, dude is on another level.. dude changes the sound of hiphop everytime he drops something, If I want to hear a west coast classic sound I'll go back to the archives or I will listen to some Xl Middleton

that "i am hip hop" joint that leaked sounded "west coast".

but dre moved on.  the next genre-defining sound he comes up with will be labelled "west coast" anyways.  g-funk was 15 years ago.

This is NOT a thread bashing Dre in anyway, it's just that I feel Dre doesn't make westcoast sounding beats anymore, no g funk, no cali sounding shit, nothing
what is a west coast beat today?  because what used to be west coast beat back in the day might not be a west beat today . so dr dre might be making the be new style west coast beats not the old school style that you are used to & stuck in .

It's funny how some people are stuck in the past for all eternity.. or they're just constantly 10 years behind the rest of the world.

Back when 2001 dropped, you had ninjaz going "It's alright, but it certainly ain't no Chronic, where's the G-funk? Where's the soul?"
When Detox drops, they will all say stuff like "It's nothing compared to the the G-funk on the Chronic or the thumping classic Westcoast sound on 2001"

They should just make an official "Internet Complainers' Guy To Westcoast Beats" so Dr. Dre has a guideline of how his music SHOULD sound in order to maintain his credibility with people who post on his threads talking about how "they are OFFICIALLY done with Detox" every other week.

shit that stands out, the shit he is making now i couldn't tell the difference if it were a lil wayne track, he is a painfully average producer, but once he drops something everyone is on his nuts.

honestly kanye beats stand out more than dre beats and i hate kanye

I'm sure he can, but "does he want to?" is the real question.  I cant blame him though, no sense working with one style of sound your whole career.  it would get boring.

yeah, not to mention there are still plenty of producers with an old school twist in their sound.

Wheres the west coast sound going though? Maybe living on the west coast got yall deluded but the WEST COAST HIP HOP SCNE IS PLAYED THE FUCK OUT! The last west coast rapper to blow up was Game and although his lyrics are extremely west coast orintated his beats are hardly all replicars of the old gfunk or 2001 sound.

Id be disappointed if Dre was making beats that fit in witht hte current west sound - the fact he's taking it in another direction (with varying degrees of success) is a GOOD thing. Quik or Daz or Warren G can continue dropping G Funk albums but at the end of the day whose checking for them?
