yo, for whoever is interested, y'all should read the 'I Get Around' story, an extract from Shock's book (Producing A Young Genius)...

It said that he gave 'Pac that instru which was made 5months before 'Pac ever heard it.

Shock said he made the instru thanx to Dj Fuze(of Raw Fusion) who gave him a disc full of different percussion; amongst the samples, many r from 'Step In The Arena'.

Then, he was bringing a cassette of 6 instrus in every party & every show he went; he said ppl were enjoying the instru that many used for their freestyling.
It was going to be used as a tune for an upcoming TV serie, 'Angel Street', but they Channels decided otherwise.
Shock gave it to another group to make it as their single, Dungeon Squad, but they refused to keep it.

& then John Singleton called Shock to ask for a D.U./Tupac collabo he wanted for "Poetic Justice" soundtrack, & when Tupac was listening to Shock instrus, he found that one, & IMMEDIATELY said he wanted that beat, & the track was recording at Starlight Sound studio (Richmond).
'Pac wrote the entire verse for Shock, & he even wrote one for Money B, who did not like it & re-wrote a new one; 'Pac was giving the directives, like he choose that Shock made the chorus, etc etc

The funny thing is that Shock said that he originally gave Tupac a 3 instrus cassette, & he assumed that the 2 other beats were in his opinion, wayyy better than the 'I Get Around' one....
makes me wonder what the 2 other may had sound like ?
