I'm talking about where they say...

At this time the company is cataloging
all of the content it purchased in the January 15, 2009 Death Row bankruptcy
auction. When the company is prepared to issue a comprehensive statement
regarding the listing of artists of previously unreleased master recordings
owned by Death Row it will do so but expect no such listing any earlier than
six to twelve months from now.

I'm glad John Payne is involved, he was one of the original engineers for Death Row Records/Godfather Entertainment.

I'm excited for this.it seems like they actually know what their doing.2010 is fair I don't know what you guys are going on about its too long they just bought the company. Now they have go through everything they have then organize it figure out what they want to release contact the artist get them involved.that's a lot of work.I would rather they take their time with it and do it right rather then just rush something into stores to make a quick buck.that being said overall I do take everything with a grain of salt because it honestly sounds too good to be true

Dre stopped Suge from putting out any of his old stuff, so what makes this any different, i'm sure he'll block this company too.  Snoop doesn't want his old stuff out either.  So I doubt we'll see albums from those two.
I think that had more to do with them not wanting Suge to make money off of their work.  Since that's no longer part of the equation, maybe the stance changes

But then again....would Suge still make money off of the publishing?  Or did he lose those rights as well when he gave up the company?

Yeah I remember reading in an interview years ago, (in The Source, I think) Dre saying that if Death Row had a more positive attitude towards its former artists that he and Snoop would both probably be receptive toward working with Death Row and helping them out.  He said it was shame the circumstances weren't different, and he could help the label since it was a label he helped build.

I honestly think the 6-12 months thing will more likely turn into 2-3 years.  :(

I'm not really getting that vibe and I don't think they've really given us any reason to believe that's the case yet.

6-12 months sounds about right. You figure they actually have to go through the material and see what's there and what people would really want. Considering there's 7,000 songs and a shit load of videos, that could take a while.

Remember though, just because there's 7,000 songs doesn't mean there's 7,000 classics. There's probably a bunch of shitty records mixed in. Not hating, but the odds are pretty high there will be garbage mixed in with great songs.

For sure, they are not going to just start ripping stuff to the net. I'm sure they might even want to master some of the material and get it ready for retail format too.
