April 10, 2009. Earlier today, the website TMZ posted an EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE story on its website. The site claimed that Snoop Dog “had the dead body of his wife in his basement.” That report had media outlets all over the world reporting that Shante Broadus had passed.

Fortunately, MediaTakeOut.com has NOW confirmed that Shante Broadus is alive and well and TMZ’s report was A FAKE STORY.

Why would TMZ want to start such a rumor?

EDITOR'S UPDATE #1 10:55 - Despite the OBVIOUS FALSITY of the story (MediaTakeOut.com confirmed with the public relations dept of The California Highway Patrol that the report is FAKE), TMZ still has the story on its site and is still suggesting that SHANTE MAY BE DEAD.

At 3:19 yesterday afternoon -- while Snoop was getting high live on the internet -- an anonymous tipper called the CHP to alert them of the alleged heinous situation... but apparently it was so ridiculous that no one at the CHP bothered to forward it to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

So this is either really funny... or really, really, really messed up.

4. Its very obvious what happened. Snoop Dog was flaunting his disobedience to the law by getting high live on the internet. Some people saw Snoop's live footage and decided to turn the tables on him by getting him arrested. They then called the CHP, phoned in a tip about Snoop's dead wife, so that the police would break into Snoop's home and see Snoop in the act of consuming cannabis. The end result would be that the anonymous pranksters would've gotten Snoop Dog jailed for drug use.

However, the police didn't believe them, and the prank didn't work. All that happened was Snoop got high on the internet and people failed to get him arrested.
