I always check sales. Because 50 ALWAYS makes a point to bring sales into beef and make it relevant in the beef. So if I go by 50's analogy, yes I am looking at Rick Ross' sales and things that in other beefs that don't matter to see if all that shit talking made a impact.
good point. didnt even think of that. so true though.

beef is not the same as it used to be. The last "beef" that was really about the music was Jay and Nas to me. All this extra shit thrown in now is just for entertainment value IMO. People at the end of the day decide when a artists "15 minutes" is up. Bow Wow did not end Soulja Boy's career, people just decided you know what I ain't supporting him on this one, period. And that is something I at times get sick of with 50. He acts like he can do all these things to sway the people's opinion of artists that he is dissing. He always makes a point to say he knows what the general public wants and when he makes something we the general public do not want he makes excuses.

Both 50 and Ross are dilusional if you ask me but again Ross is making music. Good or bad that is up to the people but he is on his hustle like his song says.

I have yet to hear a Back Down type diss track from 50. The whole Jada beef when Jada dropped his diss, 50 got quiet. When 300 Bars came out, 50 got quiet and then dropped a posse cut. I mean he got a couple comical stabs here and there but when he gets it back as bad or worse as he gives it then he wants to pull soundscan out and do all this other outlandish shit.

Ross must be sipping the same shit Wayne is to think he is winning this from a beef standpoint. You resort to recruiting Bang Em Smurf? Come on bro. Ya boy gets knocked the fuck out and 50 posts it on his website. He finds ya baby moms and puts her book out and puts a porno out on ya ex and the best you can come up with is MUNKEY, 50 can't dress and Banks is gay. Man where have I heard this shit before. And now you want it with Eminem? LOL! So for me it boils down to how much if any 50 has damaged his career. Beef wise Ross ain't winning this.

To my understanding, the only real beef 50 had with anyone was with Ja Rule and that all resulted from Rule's, Gotti's, and Preme's connections.  50 almost had his life taken over that shit on numerous occasions so it was the realest beef.

Basically, every beef he's had since then has been a matter of increasing his profit by decreasing his competitions chance of dollars or if you affiliated with Rule/Gotti/Preme (like Nas did).  For an example of decreasing his competitor's chance of making revnue, Style P "Time Is Money" got held back.  Since then everything's been "smoothed over" as you can see Jada isn't taking part of any beef.  You see now Jadakiss is "cool" with 50.

I don't even think 50 took Ross serious or most of these beefs serious.  I mean from the get go 50  only played with Ross because
A) he thought his album was tentatively coming out
B) it generated revenue for thisis50.com.

With all that said, for the most part, I've enjoyed all of 50's music.  But, I do agree the album formula he's used since Get Rich is played out.  He needs to bring the highest quality product back if he uses the same formula or needs to reinvent himself.  He doesn't need to be afraid to releasing music like Hate It or Love It just because he did not blew up on some personal reflective tip and he fears it would alienate his audience.

Once Em's Relapse is released we'll see if Aftermath is out of touch with the modern consumer and quality expectations.

My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter

I like the way you said that about it being even... Entertainment wise and resource wise 50 won all out... but best diss and the fact that he will still sell decent for these times makes me agree with you... We all know Ross is a bit delusional but his beats have made a very listenable album much to my own surprise I have to admit!
exactly..i know what i'm talking about..ppl think ross ain't gonna sell..quote me on it..he'll sell very well..the streets/south support Ross..the album is great..

last time he dropped most ppl (even me) said "damn ross goin head-to-head with Snoop" and what happened? he beat out Snoop! That made me a believer he wasn't no 1 hit wonder..this album should sell 160K first week at the least and 600-800K overall..

If this was 99 Ross would sell a mill and this record would probbaly end up going 3-4 times platinum.. with that said.. im not a big fan of his, he does have a few good tracks.

If this album sells it just proves hip hop is dead.A mediocre rapper propped up by beats who had his card pulled and it sells better then someone who can actually rap.smh.

The thing is now a days in this rap "beef" the music isnt enough so you have to do this other stuff. That being said 50 has to come right on BISD otherwise that is it for him.....and im a fan of 50 so i hope he comes correct.

On the other hand although i cant denie ross album is well put together, i just cant stand him and cant understand how people have over looked how much of a phoney this guy is. I understand some people just appreciate his music but surely to really appraciate the music you have to believe the artist.....

You can't really take first week sales at Def Jam too serious, look at Jada, he had ZERO buzz and he sold 140.000.

true, but Jada had 1 platinum album and 1 gold album under his belt before this 3rd album so he's been selling records pretty well. He has a fanbase.

Rick Ross is feeling himself too much even thinks Port Of Miami is a Ready To Die caliber album. For that I ain't spending money on Deeper Than Rap even though I think its a good album.
