Amalgam Digital and Kingz Nation Collaborate to Release Quan’s New Mixtape and Prelude Album

Former Ill Will/Atlantic Records recording artist Quan, aka Don Ferquan, and multimedia company Kingz Nation are working with new media outfit Amalgam Digital to digitally distribute his mixtape “Carrying the Tradition” and album prelude “Walking Testimony.” Established by Quan in 2005, Kingz Nation consists of various entertainment outlets created by the soulful artist to aptly support his wide range of talents and commitment to his fans. After both rapping and singing on Nas’ hit single “Just a Moment” from the platinum-selling album “Street’s Disciple,” Quan was cosigned by the legendary artist as “the future of hip hop,” sending waves throughout the rap community in response to his rare blend of expressive versatility and social and political consciousness.

He will kick off his first scheduled release, the DJ Vlad and DJ 4Sho-hosted mixtape “Carrying the Tradition,” with the lead single “Un,” produced by former Nas and Ludacris collaborator Ron Browz. “Walking Testimony” will serve as a prelude to Quan’s debut album, and it is slated for a heavily anticipated summer 2009 release that will be promoted with a national “Block” tour, an interactive online/mobile contest, and a unique new reality show titled “Walking Testimony TV.”

Amalgam Digital is hip-hop’s first digital retail store and independent record label. The company offers digital distribution services as well as a new User Generated Content module, which now allows consumers to directly upload tracks in the store.
