If Maia beats Marquardt I'd be shocked.I agree Shogun doesn't deserve the title shot, and hes not at his PRIDE level yet, but he's slowly getting back to form and could cause trouble for a lot of guys.Upcoming cards look sick can't wait for 102 and 104 but 103 looks pretty weak.Unrelated but did you guys see the Miguel Torres Brian Bowles fight from sunday, great fight Bowles dropped him in the first in a Liddellesque KO while backing up.U can say that but we dont know for sure until he faces actual competition.

^ I actually agree with his manager. I thought Franklin won their fight, and the Bisping fight was a sure win, for godsakes the man was circling right into Hendo's left hand. Maia deserves it more than all of them. IMO right now it should be Silva VS. Maia then Marquardt VS Hendo for the next title shot.I dont think the article was too far off tho, he only has 3 fights left on his contract, if he is still champion he cant leave, I think its called the champions clause. He would either have to get beat or give up the title to fight at Light Heavy which i'm pretty sure hes gonna do after his next fight or the fight after that.

Randy Couture left as the champion and they were forced to make an interim title, although I suppose that may be because he still had fights left on his contract that he hadn't fulfilled. Also, I think Silva only having 3 fights left on his clause actually INCREASES the likelihood that he stays at the middleweight, unfortunately. Something tells me he wants to finish his contract defending the belt successfully and then relinquish the title when his contract is done, so he can leave behind one hell of a legacy.
