I remember buyin' this compilation years ago and bein' excited as fuck about it but i was so dissapointed when i bumped it from start to end. Only tracks i still listen to are "East Coast/West Coast Killas", "Blunt Time", "Been There, Done That" and "Str8 Gone". There should have been a few more Dr. Dre solos on it.

My thoughts exactly.  I was like "oh shit a Dre joint on his own, new label".  The hype I had placed on it was higher than what was delivered, but it's still an okay album.  It might not have been a great album, but it's Aftermath's first project that eventually lead to other Aftermath classics.
Time for a change...bring it!

Hell yeah, but "The Wash" soundtrack was kinda garbage too. There should have been more Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg collabos on it. Great tracks on this though like "Bad Intentions, "Holla", "Str8 West Coast" and "The Wash". I never really liked "On The Blvd." though, that beat was kinda wack.

i never herd this i know i know but there was is a reason well like 2 or 3 reasons

1 i was told back then i was very very shitty by more then one person

2 i dont dl cds and i never see this is the store

so some feed back would be dope good songs on the cd beats ect ect thanks peace
there's some filler, but if you take into account that it's a compilation then it's quite good
however, music is very personal so no one can speak for you

i didn't say it was an excuse.

but it's more an exception than a rule that compilations are great, in my opinion.
big thangs is not one of them for me

Lol.

I've highlighted my favorite tracks. "who been there, who done that" the beat was good but the style wasn't DR.DRE and it fell short of expectations of many. The album was made when Dr.Dre was trying to say "gangster rap is dead" then he realized when the album flopped that he had to back to the formula that made him a success in the beginning.

I think that Dre issued this in the hopes of duplicating the success of Chronic by using various artists.  Funny thing about this is that he did not take all that long to release this following his departure from DeathRow.  The irony in this is that he wasted little time to put this out yet he's taking his time to release Detox.   ::)

This album was dope.  There were only three or four tracks on the album that I wasnt feeling.  Plus u gotta understand Dre only did 5 tracks on the album and all his shit was dope.

yeah that's the biggest misconception: people thought it was a Dre produced album.
