im not rooting for anyone.  there are players i hate on both teams, and i hate the yanks organization, but im just watching cause im a fan of baseball and its a good world series.

last year the brewers abused the shit out of his arm just so they could stay in the fight...this year the yanks are doing the same thing.

he cant keep doing this shit forever and expect a long career.

just once a year in the playoffs.

we gave him extra rest during the end of the regular season, he says he feels fine & he has been dominate.

just hope he keeps that up tonight.

Not every pitcher is the same.  Some work best on 3 days rest, some 4, some 5.  I would pitch guys like CC or Halladay every 4th day all season.

its not about how effective they are, im sure CC will be the same tonight as hes been all postseason.  its about the extra toll it takes on their arms.  especially when theyre getting paid what they are.  im not saying to baby them or anything like that, im just saying that all of this extra work year in and year out will eventually make its mark and possibly cut their careers short by a few seasons or worse, injure themselves trying to push themselves just cause its the playoffs.

i only say this because their arms are not built to go every 3 days.  if it was 1969 where pitchers threw 300+ innings then pitching on short rest wouldnt be an issue, because they have the arm strength.  pitchers in 2009 dont. 


i can see what you mean about putting up your best with fewer days rest, but if your team is weak and theres no real chance of making the playoffs, then its just irresponsible to put your ace up there on short rest.
