by the looks of things, Hurt Locker pretty much has it in the bag. seems to be beating Avatar at every awards so far...definitely deserves the props its getting mind you

As of right now, I definitely prefer The Hurt Locker to win but I still need to see Up in the Air and A Serious Man.  I think there is a good chance I will like one of those two more than The Hurt Locker. 


Fans of the Hurt Locker though should really check out Generation Kill.

i DEFINATELY like those two more than hurt locker... fuck im gonna watch it again in a week or so... i swear i saw nothing in it at all.. did nothing for me..  i like an education.. but its not an oscar winner, or nominee for that, just enjoyed it greatly

Well I don't think The Hurt Locker is that impressive, just a decent film.  It is pretty corny that oh being in war can be addicting for certain types of people, I enjoyed the story to it.

i look at it where it wasn't so much of him being addicted, but not being able to function in normal society.

either way, yeah, it was a little farfetched; but still awesome for me.

this is exactly what i thought...its a good film, but some people make it seem like its the best modern war film or something.

up in the air is a GREAT movie...the scene where he goes to the womans house crushed me.  i still havent seen a serious man or avatar even.....bout to see a serious man later tho.

Yeah.  That movie's awesome.  I think it's probably one of Tarantino's more overlooked movies too.  But it was really well done.  Probably my favorite Kurt Russell performance from any movie. And that includes "Big Trouble in Little China," and "Escape from New York."
