European Hip-hop festivals (anyone been to one)
« on: January 29, 2010, 06:25:27 AM »
I'm currently thinking about going to Europe this summer and visiting a few music festivals along the way. I've heard of some large hip-hop events happening such as Kemp but wanted to see what people who had been thought of it.

I know there's quite a range of nationalities on the forum so if people could recommend other music festivals they've been too or know of then that would be excellent too.

Kemp is mainly about the music, camping and services are very bad.. in Czech is also Jam in July, but there are only two big headliners and the rest is from Czech/Slovakia, last year Xzibit and Tash were here, and in 2007 David Banner and Game

Rap is not real, I don't care what they told you,
Fake people say fake things in their vocalbooth
- Soul Position - Mic Control

I make it hard to read me, graffiti flow - Rakim - Word On The Streets

Props for the info! Anything announced with rock the Bells coming to Europe. The problem with the last one was that it wasn't really a festival and more just a show.

True, they should make a festival of it over here too.

Anyone got any info of lineups for these festivals? (Kemp, Splash and Openair)

I'm looking at Splash but Openair seems to have an amazing line-up. Any further info would be great cause I'm struggling to find much info on the Openair festival.

Safe + rep.

Kemp doesnt seem to have enough acts that I'd like although the dubstep and grime djing would be a lot. Frauenfeld looks sick and Splash could be good. I'm considering doing a trip round europe with festivals involved. May hit up a dance festival in eastern europe though cause the girls would be alot!
