Stand By Me
« on: February 19, 2010, 12:06:04 AM »
In my childhood memories
There were 3
that made me
what we had was never each other
but it was the hot summer
sometimes we told lies
and sometimes we told truth
but it wasn't about that
cause we shared the sweat of youth
the street lights, bikes
we had the ride, the journey
we talked so that selfishly we could see
our own thoughts live and breathe
but we shared the stream of memories
that seemed to last infinitely
That so many have shared
in youth at the core it's all the same
you were mark, matt, suzanne
but they could have been any names
no specific stories, everybody knows...
because moments came so freely
like the way water flows
or like the way day runs into night
it was a right... of passage
we didn't make the moments
as they passed
Or choose each other
and plan it as such
the moments made us
kids with pockets of coins
next to each other
as close as rivers that join
many discoveries were to be made
in the woods on a raft that floats
"raise your hand if you want to turn back?"
always we'd challenge and boast
fight in parks and hide out in woods, trees
running through ponds and streams
endless games of hide-and-go-seek
unfinished houses our forts and our playgrounds
just making gold of anything we found

Poem dedicated to my 3 closest childhood friends

My Cyber Heart

by Abdul-Infinite Ibrahim Nelson
To: My cyber girlfriend Zara (the beautiful and radiant)

My "cyber-heart"
longs for your cyber arms
so I spit these cyber bars
twist up these cyber charms
I long for your cyber touch
when you touch upon
these keys,
but you say to me
that this love is wrong
and that it be
just in my cyber mind
those words are
just so unkind
because this cyber heart
starts to studder
and this.. this.. cyber heart
that... it.. that feels
cold, like November
or maybe it's December
it's a day I don't remember
cause this cyber heart
see it warms with a renewing light
See I press this "function" key
and the "up" arrow makes it bright
Then once again I feel right
and I down-shift on the right-tab
cause it's from this cyber connect-
with which I CAPATALIZE
on this opportunity whence
less advanced hominids
didn't know this digital love
They saw across rooms but couldn't touch
They had a mind to speak
but no media was provided
but because of this cyber connect
I don't have to hide that
I'm into your cyber looks
and every pic that you post
it's the black and white dress
that I love the most
or it's that reddish orange outfit
or it's your golden skin
or it's the shine in your face
or is it your life within
where do I begin
damn, I guess I'm cyber hooked
I guess I am cyber obsessed
damn too bad we can't
have some form of cyber-sex
naw, just to suggest
breaks some sort of cyber rules
I got to be careful
and play this one cool
Even though my intuition
speeds me across telapathically
through this screen
it would be kind of mean
to project onto you the same thing
so anyway, for now I get by
with this tattered cyber heart
hoping to one day
shatter this cyber affair
and open up your "real heart"
