UTEOT or Better Dayz
« on: November 28, 2002, 07:10:47 PM »
I've always liked Until the end of time.  Sure, it would have been better if they would have kept some of Pac's hooks, but the majority of the tracks that were remixed sounded dope.  They sounded like instrumentals that he would actually rap to.

On Better days, they kept the majority of Pac's hook original, but they remixed EVERY track, mostly resulting in shitty ass-sub par production.-------------IMO

So my vote goes to Until the end of time....no fuckin' contest.

Better Dayz by far...UTEOT was the worst piece of shit I've ever heard...it's not Pac's fault though, it would've been classic if they didn't fuk with the originals...

I prefer the originals, but I think Better Dayz had overall better production than UTEOT and the songs,Thug Mansionetc., were tighter than the songs on UTEOT...

Yeah, I defo prefer the originals, but I think the production on UTEOT fit 2Pac's style A LOT better than Better Dayz.

agreed.  "everything they owe", for example.  great!   as for better dayz, i could have put together better production on "never be peace" with a tin can and a tape recorder than the crap they did to it on this album.  and who the hell needs not one but TWO bad mixes of fair xchange???

Nah..."Until The End Of Time."  Y'all need to look at that album for what it is, and not worry about how some songs were before they were redone due to bootlegging.  The reason they were changed was prolly cause of you fools who d/l the org. Pac songs.

Anyway, UTEOT is more solid...it has more good songs than the new one.

Better Dayz, no contest!!

Matter of fact, EITHER disc from Better Dayz [take your pick] is better than BOTH discs from UTEOT put together. UTEOT is fucking horrible, and this is coming from a HUGE 2Pac fan. That album had like 8 good songs. I can listen to about 18 of the songs on BD, and a handful of those songs are just beautiful [Mamas Just A Little Girl, Street Fame, Who Do U Believe In, etc etc].

Thing is, Ive heard most of the originals from BOTH of these albums. With UTEOT, an overwhelming majortity of the originals are much better. And I mean MUCH better. With Better Dayz though, I found myself, surprisingly, preferring many of the newer versions over the originals. Here's a little breakdown of my thoughts of Better Dayz......

Disc 1

Still Ballin - 4/5 [Trick's verse was unessecary, but the song is still hot]
When We Ride On Our Enemies - 4/5 [good, but original is still better]
Changed Man - 3/5 [beat doesnt go with the song]
Fuck Em All - 4.5/5 [this song is BANGIN, beautiful electric guitar]
Never Be Peace - 4.5/5 [most people seem to prefer the original, but I myself like this version better. Darkass beat]
Mamas Just A Little Girl - 5/5 [classic 2Pac, nuff said]
Street Fame - 5/5 [MUCH better than the original, the piano and the synthesizer are beautiful]
What Cha Gonna Do - 4/5 [again, better than the OG version IMO]
Fair Xchange - 1/5 [I dont like ANY versions of this song]
Late Night - 4/5
Ghetto Star - 4.5/5 [not as good as the original, but the this version is still pretty nice]
Thugz Mansion acoustic - 5/5 [Nas+Pac+acoustic guitar = masterpiece]

Disc 2

My Block remix - 5/5 [original is a classic, this version is even better though]
Thugz Mansion - 5/5
Never Call U Bitch Again - 4/5 [Tyrese slows the song down too much, but its still a good overall song]
Better Dayz - 4.5/5
U Can Call - 2.5/5 [this song is just boring]
Military Mindz - 2.5/5 [only one Pac verse??]
Fame - 4.5/5
Fair Xchange - 1/5
Catchin Feelin's - 4/5 [better than the OG version]
There U Go - 2/5 [chorus is HORRIBLE]
This Life I Lead - 3/5 [OG version is much better]
Who Do U Believe In - 5/5 [one of Pac's deepest songs ever, need I say more?]
They Dont Give A Fuck About Us - 5/5
