but look you got to stay true to yourself like face always has and he stayed trued to his roots
it was obvious makin songs like certified, haterz, sun come up etc....all were wack compared to fucc wit me....which is weird cuz that song was produced by mannie resh same produced that produced connected for life

connected for life = classic
fucc wit me = bangin

both those songs have westcoast rappers on them and both were produced by the same person all for the westcoast....but he didnt take advantage and went chose haters, certified and even made a remix for it....

you see how e-40 is comin back to his roots

yeah i feel u idk how he though he could keep it gangsta while going to the south. the only thing gangsta about southern hip hop is scarface lol.
damn u still havent logged off...ur hurting everyone with all this wack shit u drop, it hurts more then getting the swine flu

Face comes from a different time in Hip Hop and he's earned the right to call his own shots....it's not as easy for someone new coming out on a major. I agree that G should've stayed a little closer to his roots but I can see how getting caught up in the political machine can sway an artist.

come on styles...gettin caught up....be careful cuz he might have accidently signed a 12 album deal too when he was caught in the moment....it is what it is
face was caught in the moment and he made dope muzik while he was caught in the moment
face is an example....back in the day when face first started, he made mistakes but did he stay true? yeah he did and years later he still doin the same thing

but look you got to stay true to yourself like face always has and he stayed trued to his roots

that was a way different era of hip hop that Face started in..... majors let artists make the music they wanted to. its a different beast today, way different beast today. the two eras cannot be compared.

im not comparin the era's...but the artists themselves
its the artists themselves...this has nuthin to do wit era's, labels etc..
jus stay true to yourself period!!!
stayin true to yourself....labels, era's doesnt come into that only if you let it and get caught up...otherwise there are a few out there that have made muzik in different era's but they've stayed true to them...no matter what era the muzik was made in

And plus, the type of music Face was making in his era was in a sense the same today - totally different sound, but understand what I'm saying - Face was making stuff that was being played on the radio and commercial friendly. The style of music has changed drastically, but Face was still making "popular music..

the thing is, you have to compare the eras.....especially since we are talking about a breaking artist. it was much easier to say "true" to yourself on a major back in 88' when the Geto Boyz were making a name for themselves, than an artist coming out today in 2010. Like I said, I agree that an artist should be true, but any artist on any major label is going to have a much larger degree of difficulty doing that in this day and age as oppossed to coming out in a time of Hip-Hop where there wasn't as much interference or political sway on behalf of the music company.

I can see how an artist today can have difficulties in not trying to adjust their sound. its a lot harder than you make it out to be.

Don't like much of his music but I enjoy reading his interviews.  He comes off as a good human who accepts change and tries to grow through his experiences.

Luckily he stated if Cash Money don't put the record out, he is bringing the record out by himself.

That's what we can only hope for. Cash Money is known for giving out deals that artists don't want. If he can put it out himself he probably has to wait a few years till after the contract has ended and by that time the music is even more dated than it is now already. Don't get me wrong, I'll check for it, but he won't sell shit.

From day 1 I've been saying that this album wouldn't come out on Cash Money and I hate to say it, but I'm most likely right.

it is what it is and now everyones gon talk bad about him cuz
he went to the south for help
made wack muzik
wasnt bein true to himself/roots...which he admits

its very sad that he would go that route and then later on admit hes wrong...which everyone knew...but he keeps on sayin he cant deny workin wit someone who sells a million records....someone that sold a million records really helped you and jay rock didnt they.....again be real to begin with

Why we gotta be mad at him and talk bad about him making a mistake in judgment? A mistake that he is readily admitting. Can't we just be happy that he's going back to his roots now? I don't think he was ever not being real with us. He wasn't being real with himself and he saw that and has changed.

I totaly agree with you.. Yall act like G. Malone been in the music game and the business side for years and suppose to have knowledge of the atmosphere.. this very game is tricky and political when you sign to a major company...But I hope the best for him...And jus keep putting out ya music the best way you know how...I honestly think Mack 10 signed G.Malone for a budget from cash money either he cash his money or cash out..Mack 10 still won and got a budget for G...Mack 10 is good for creating budgets and the artist dont advance in their carrers..Look at the whole hoo bangin previous roster..All of em cried Mack robbed....Even eiht did when he came to us...
