Mad disappointing; they need better hitters.

Dunn
Braun
Fielder
Hamilton
Pujols
Branyan

give me those names.

Somethin tells me Pujols just doesnt care about these things anymore. I hope Andre Ethier participates in one of these some day

This is always pretty boring. Just watching players clock soft balls out of the park time and time again. Home runs are exciting in a game because u don't expect them to just come. I've always found the derby pretty boring. The only cool part is sometimes seeing how FAR they can blast them.

I think you have to be an actual fan of a participant in the home run derby so you have someone to root for. I was somewhat rooting for Hanley Ramirez, but altogether I didn't care much for any of these players so this derby wasn't all that interesting to me either.

The NBA dunk contest is in a similar boat right now. Nobody has any creativity anymore (using gay ass props don't count), so now you'd really have to be looking forward to a specific player in the contest in order for it to grab your attention.

Usually HR contests are pretty wack, even with big names.  It takes something really special for it to be exciting.  The All Star game though is the best one from all the sports.  Dream match ups in practically every at bat.

& the fact that it counts is good. I like that. Seriousness is what an All-Star game needs.

^ yea its easily the best all star game, its also becasue of the sport, it lends itself to have all the players play their hardest, (where as in basketball, imagine an allstar  game where everyone plays hard ass defense, the fans would complain like crazy cause no spectacular dunks, and pro bowl, well that just sucks)
