I do know that we ended in a 1-1 tie against a team from a country that worships Soccer more than Jesus. Even though apparently this is a sport we "suck at" and dont care about.

Lets be honest. England is far better than USA. USA only tied England because of an unusual and horrific goalkeeping mistake. England is a top 9 team in the world, USA is top 20 probably; no better than Mexico, Ivory Coast, Paraguay, etc.

They are not a lock for #1 in their group after that loss. So they might have to play Brazil in the next stage. It's curtains even before the QFT in that case.

Forlan's first goal was unreal. The referee was terrible though. That definitely didn't deserve a penalty shot. Good to see my man Alvaro Pereira (FC Porto) score their third goal.

Spain, oh man, still can't believe it. Assuming Switzerland are able to defeat at least Honduras (or get a win against Chile), they will finish first and face Brazil 2nd round. That means whoever finishes 2nd in the group of death (Portugal or Ivory Coast) will get what should be a relatively easy 2nd round match against Switzerland. Barring a crazy upset or Spain comes back to finish 1st (needs Switzerland to fuck up), 2nd place in the group of death is more coveted than 1st

No, North vs South would be cool, but me and you starting a new country tomorrow and getting a team ready for the next World Cup and winning it stands a better chance than either Korea in the final this year.
