Death At A Funeral
« on: April 18, 2010, 12:56:42 AM »
It was actually better than I expected. I recommend checking it out. I wouldn't call it a black comedy because it was really just a comedy revolving around a family that happens to be black. It's for all groups of people though.

None of that coon ass Tyler Perry shit.

I was afraid that's what it was going to be going in, but it's definitely mainstream.

Actually, not bad for a remake. The original is better IMO.

I saw the OG back in 2007 and I thought it was fairly decent popcorn movie. Not planning to see this one, for the fact that I've seen the OG and the remake has got mainly shitty reviews from critics. Why they are making the remake is that the original British movie didn't succeed on Amerikkkan movie markets or on any movie market really. My guess is that Neil LaBute, the director of this remake, is in bad dept to his coke dealers and needed just some money quick, so make a remake was his best idea.

thanx, i wanted to hear how good it was...but my problem with movies is how expensive they are these days. Freaking $13 for hour and half, when i can buy the blu ray for $20 when it comes out, makes no sense.

I'm surprised they remade this because the british original was hardly earth-shatteringly funny. Not seen this new one but the names involved make me think it'll at least be worth checking out.
