His dad was a joke too tho. I never liked that muthafucka. Boxing politics was in full effect with Chavez. His record was everything, just like with Mayweather. But he racked 80+ wins fighting nobody. My boy Meldrick Taylor got robbed. Boxing wanted to protect that perfect record.

the call coulda went either way with the meldrik fight.. ref was screwed either way even tho i personally think he made the right call....

whitaker did get robbed tho that call was bullshit boxing politics

The thing is, if the fight wouldnt have been stopped...Meldrick still would not have been KO'd (there was only like 5 seconds left in the fight), and he would have won on the score cards without a doubt. He took some shots in the later rounds. But he made the unbeaten Chavez look like a rookie in the ring for much of the fight.

As far as Sweet Pea...FUCK YES. Whitaker completely outclassed Chavez. That was ridiculous. I think Pernell got robbed against De La Hoya too. But with Chavez it was obvious.  Remember this front cover after the fight?

meldrik looked much worse after the fight and went to the hospital so go figure... anyways im not gonna argue bout that fight ive been having debates baout that shit 2 long lol
