Dr. Dre "Detox": The way the world should hear it...
« on: August 18, 2010, 05:34:48 PM »
it would cater to everybody and still be crankin' enough for the backthen and new fans to enjoy every track.  all of the songs have substance to them but the ones i didn't break down are hybrids of story-like songs but regular type songs but done properly and not sloppily and not stiff or boringly.

01 - Inhale: The Intro
feat. Nipsey Hussle (talking for the intro), Scarface (talking for the outro), & Eryka Badu (adlibing)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Herbie Hancock (on the piano)
*Samples: Herbie Hancock's "The Watermelon Man"*

02 - Shadows
feat. Nas (7 seconds on the outro)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre

03 - Cus Youz A Fag Nigga
feat. Ludacris (1st verse, hook) & T.I. (last verse)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & DJ Premier
** a hippity happy song about haters**

04 - New Product, Same Connect
feat. Raekwon (3rd verse, hook), Busta Rhymes (2nd verse), Crooked I (outro), & Devin The Dude (last verse, hook)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Kanye West

05 - Keep The Money Tight
feat. Jay Z (2nd verse, hook) & Nicki Minaj (1st verse)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Scott Storch

06 - Let's Get It In Deep
feat. Snoop Dogg (2nd verse), George Clinton (intro, hook, outro), & Tina Marie (hook)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Trent Reznor
*Samples: George Clinton & Parliament's "Erotic City"*

07 - The Lies These Bitchez Tell
feat. RBX (on the intro), Warren G (2nd verse), Bun B (1st verse), Too $hort (hook), & Pimp C ("beiytch" clip at the end said along with $hort at the same time)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre

08 - Ruthless Ass Baby Gangstaz
feat. Eazy E (intro), MC Ren (3rd verse), Ice Cube (2nd verse), & Kokane (hook)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre
**a dark story about some young gangsta ass young niggaz lookin' 4 tha light but livin' day by day (kinda like a self reflection as a youth but highlighting the extremes)**
*Lyrical dialogue in form of Master P's "Only Time Will Tell":

09 - Cell Block Number 666
feat. Snoop Dogg (1st verse/split with Dre, Snoop-Hook), Tha Dogg Pound (2nd verses split), & 2Pac (5 second interview snippet after the hook on the last verse before Dre raps)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Mr. Porter
**a song about gettin' back on no matter what it may be, but kinda like an inspirational tale beat but not too over happy n shit**
*Samples: Redman's "Rockafella (Remix)" instrumental ONLY

10 - Shittin' On The World Part II
feat. 50 Cent (3rd Verse), Eminem (2nd Verse), Bishop Lamont & Slim The Mobster (both on the hook), & Snoop Dogg (on the outro)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Scott Storch
**a song about being on top of your game and being on top of THE game**

^^^^the stories that transition from Ruthless to DeathRow to Aftermath^^^^

11 - My Celebrity
feat. Lil' Wayne (2nd verse), Diddy (3rd verse), Drake (adlibs on the hook), Fergie (main hook singer)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Mark Batson

12 - Kill Everybody In D.C.
feat. Nipsey Hussle (tag teaming with Dre)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre
**kinda like "the day niggaz took over part 2" but except niggaz is taking over Washington DC and EVERYBODY (including Obama) gets called out or shot up execution style (All the Obamas would survive tho)/News Pundants would get mirked too and called out by name.  aka holding Washington DC hostage.

13 - Say Fuck Tha Shit!
feat. Timbaland (1st verse), Will.I.Am (3rd verse, hook), Lady Gaga (hook), & WC (4th verse)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre & Will.I.Am
**a club type of song that makes the bitchez wet and makes man wanna tear shit up, a REAL thought provoking song that makes you WANT TO REALLY rob a bank, slap your baby mother, get revenge on them niggaz, buy a hooker and then take the money back, and act like a straight heathen, etc... but real tho and not just some shock track** - will.i.am could pull a Jeezy on "hypnotize" with maybe a robot-robot (with a chorus/flanger on it) voice and Lady Gaga could do her thing.

14 - Exhale: The Outro
feat. Nate Dogg & Tommy Chong
*Produced By: Dr. Dre

** - The Dedication To Jr.
feat. The Game (introduction about a father and his son)
*Produced By: Dr. Dre
**a song about Andre Young Jr.**

all of Dre's verses are written by:  Dre, Problem, Hittman, Knoc Turn Al, DOC, Bishop Lamont, Slim The Mobster, Snoop Dogg, Lil' Wayne, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, 50 Cent, & Nipsey Hussle.

****i'm sure most people are for Dre trying something new and "innovative" but the good doctor should'nt aim for something that's outta his league either.  it's kinda like a nerd tryna get with the baddest chick in skool without no game or money**** a nice little concoxion of all of Dre's skills based around what he's pretty much known for is where it's at, i don't see nothin wrong with a synthed out track with Lady on it but at tha same time he's gotta have that groove and that jazz in it too.  he can reach but not over reach.  i'm all for artist freedom and trying 2 cover newer horizons but Dre has to be Dre too, all he should focus on really is changing that Relapse flow, getting good verses from writers, and polishing up his instrumentals to a T'.

"about me" by raekwon makes me giggle (and not in the good way).  i hope he jazzes it up somemore like a mix of "Loaded" by Brotha Lynch Hung with Marylin Manson's "AntiChrist Superstar" mixed with Scarface's "Untouchable" but keep it Dre all of the way.  SoundEffects and and Live Instruments with Keyboards are the future.  None of that boom-bap d-note/g-note shit on the uuh-ehh for the bassline.

**but who knows if it'll ever drop any day soon**

_________________________________

"shit popped off" = ok, pretty decent, but old as hell now
"topless" = shit bangs
"this is detox" = pretty wack imo, with little to no replay value, i even cut out that part on Inspectah Deck's diss to Joey
"og anthem" = pretty corny
"the doctor" = shit was bangin' but it's a little old now too
"it could've been you" = could've been a classic
ti's "the coming" (or some shit like that) = bonkers
"flashy" = are you serious?  how can any1 call that album material
"under pressure" =  :-X but i guess it served it's purpose

and the rest of them i pretty much 4got about, so they must've not been that great bcuz i'd probably be playing them right now.
