Post criticism from last tournament and suggestions for next tournament

The last tournament was a great success but then fizzled out again.  We had a problem at the end with people not showing up and getting disqualified from key semi-finals and finals battles.  We still have a long way to go at this forum.  Battles spend months without getting voted on.  A few battles in the tournaments were still lacking votes at the end of the week.

I don't think there is a way to fix all of that in the short term.   But along with criticisms of the last tournament, I'd like to hear some suggestions for the next tournament.  Job suggested a punchline battle.  I thought it was a nice idea, but he said that the format and everything would be the same, but instead of being graded on our overall verse, we would be judged by our punchlines... and that part of it I wasn't feelin as much. 

But anyway, let me know what ya'll think.  Also, who is interested in participatin, moderatin, etc.... post it all here.

like you said no-shows were a bitch but i cant really see a way to combat that



as for the next tourney punchlines is cool i suppose...punchlines are easily bitten though

Agreed... punchlines are too easily bitten.

so what's a topical tourney?

and from there its voted on like anything else
