What did he sample from that? I thought it was just a sample of Kool and the Gang - Winter Sadness

I listened to the song but I didnt hear what Quik sampled from the Peter Brown song. I hear the sample now though in the background.

Anyway, the whole bassline of Quik's Groove sounds like its from Winter Madness

anybody else think this may be more of an interpolation than a sample (even though it's credited as a sample).  i hear a similar synth sound for the melody, but i don't hear the exact same sound or melody.  i always assumed quik's grooves were all live instrumentation...
