There was also the Schooly D - Jimmy Page issue over Schooly sampling Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" without permission on his song, "Signifying Rapper". The band found out when they watched Abel Ferrerea's "Bad Lieutenant" and were surprised to hear the sample used during a controversial scene where two thugs rape a nun. They objected greatly and sued both Schooly and the filmmakers. Since then, the song had to be replaced on all versions of the film.

I don't know about lawsuits but I did a cd a few years back that's a rock/rap sampled combo.
Puff Daddy's come with me sampled Led Zeppelin's kashmir.
Bazaar Royale's what's it all for sampled CKY's 96 quite bitter beings
DJ Quik musically sampled Nirvana's smells like teen spirit with Tone Toni Tony-let's get down
Big Pun & Beenie Man's make you sweat sampled INXS's I need you tonight.

Check whosampled.com  there's a lotta songs I never knew were sampled.

Didn't DJ Quik and/or Aftermath get sued the shit out of for using an uncleared sample on Truth Hurt's 'So Addicitive' song?

Good point, I didn't notice it was just asking for rock lawsuits.
