No disrespect to you guys, but so far I haven't heard a name of a dope rapper in this thread.

Ross, Jeezy, Dro, Yung LA, Big Kuntry, BG, T.I. lol. The best name in hear is probably Killer Mike.

something happened around the deeper then rap era...i noticed his beats got ill and his lyrics and wordplay had improved exponentially, by the time teflon don cameout i couldnt front on ricky ross anymore...his beat selection and  constantly improving wordplay had won me over as a fan.

+1, you hit the nail right on the head

although I didn't hate him before that really, I copped Port Of Miami but didn't like Trilla other than a few tracks

Cham how you gonna say B.G. isn't dope cuz that's all dude does  :P

Really ?? B.G. & T.I. both put out dope albums in my book (and pretty much everyone else's).

Agreed 'bout Ross. I really liked his Deeper Than Rap effort to bring back melodic rap to the forefront. I'm not a fan of his but he can be pretty entertaining. having a simplistic flow isn't necessarily a bad thing IMO.

From what perspective? If you don't like thier lyrics, fine but T.I. can rap in anyway from a technical standpoint. His flow blows most rappers out of the water.

And killer mike is like the southern ice cube... Older ice cube.

ross has been putting out quality music for a minute now. not really concerned with him trying to be the best rapper ever because i'd rather just enjoy the music instead of dissecting it.

Jeezy is as real as it gets, Ross is a fraud. Both aren't lyrical rappers but I'd take jeezy over Ross because like someone said he can say more with less. Lol @ Ross been king of the south, ATM that clearly belongs to Wayne or tip.

luda is up there too... people sleep on luda cause he's not as "hard" and ubiquitous are the aforementioned rappers but he really is a well rounded rapper that has had a good streak of hits.

I disagree. An album like no mercy which flopped for tis standards still went gold, which is the best Ross has ever done lol. And until mmg can put out a successful artist Ross ain't shit as a bawse
