That's because at any moment, somebody can make something amazing happen.

Soccer, you have to wait until the ball is at one complete end of the field & then you know there is a small chance you might score a goal, so maybe you can get excited.

Actually soccer games can be exciting without any goals. I'm not even a soccer fan but I can enjoy a good game.
