Perceptions, projections, we've gathered a long the way/
Perceptions, projections, and positions in which we are placed/
Faced with an array of subjections, but what's the objective realitay/
I've been subjectively subscribed, and placed upon the margins/
Yet I successfully strive and often move up off of them/
But yet I have to come back and they act like that's my position/
Can't objectively view me without their envious colored lenses/
I guess ready made stereotypes keep them safe behind fences/
But the question is what do I believe when the eyes are on me/
Am I deceived by the lies that they suggest upon me?
Am I diseased by perceptions and projections, I ask myself?
Well that depends I must look within and assess my souls wealth/
And when my appraisal is that there is a pearl inside the shell/
Then it doesn't matter if I dwell in this sea of a snake bitten hell/
Snakes slither beneath me but I'm in the world but not of it/
And my journal documents the experiences that make me rise above it/
Cause what's done can't be denied it's just a matter of memory/
Belief in a past that it's a finished fact isn't exactly surgery/
It's just calling a spade a spade and knowing their lies when I see it/
And having words go in one ear and out the other and never believe it
