Eminem nearing 2Pac-sales.. Nellly far behind..
« on: January 21, 2003, 05:56:44 PM »
Let's do this...

Eminem - The Slim Shady LP - 4 mill.
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP - 8 mill.
Eminem - The Eminem Show - 8 mill. (YET)
Eminem & others - 8 Mile OST - 4 mill.
= 24 mill.

(Not to mention that he has 2 multi-platinum DVDs/Videos)
((Some people might not count 8 Mile OST as a Eminem-release, so thereby you might say that he's only on 20 mill.))

Dr.Dre - The Chronic - 3 mill.
Dr.Dre - 2001 - 6 mill.
= 9 mill.

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die - 4 mill.
Notorious B.I.G. - Life after death - 10 mill. (diamond)
Notorious B.I.G. - Born Again - 2 mill.
= 16 mill.

2Pac - 2Pacalypse Now - 500K
2Pac - Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. - 1 mill.
2Pac - Me Against the World - 2 mill.
2Pac - All Eyez on Me - 9 mill.
2Pac - Greatest hits - 9 mill.
2Pac - Until the end of time - 3 mill.
= 24.5 mill.

Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt - 1 mill.
Jay-Z - In my lifetime vol.1 - 1 mill.
Jay-Z - Hard Knock life vol.2 - 5 mill.
Jay-Z - Life/Times of S.Carter vol.3 - 3 mill.
Jay-Z - The Dynasty Roc La Familia - 2 mill.
Jay-Z - The Blueprint - 2 mill.
Jay-Z & R.Kelly - The best of both worlds - 1 mill.
Jay-Z - The Blueprint 2: Gift & Curse - 1.5 mill (yet)
= 16.5 mill.

DMX - It's dark and hell is hot - 4 mill.
DMX - Flesh of my flesh..  - 3 mill.
DMX - And then there was X - 5 mill.
DMX - The Great Depression - 1 mill.
= 13 mill.

Nelly - Country Grammar - 8 mill.
Nelly - Nellyville - 5 mill. (yet)
= 13 mill.

(Let's not forget the fact that Nelly is pop-music, and not hiphop  ;) )

Ja Rule - Venni, Vetti, Vecci - 1 mill
Ja Rule - Rule 3:36 - 3 mill.
Ja Rule - Pain is love - 3 mill.
= 7 mill.

I'm only counting albums, not singles, EP's, videos, or DVD's..
If I did, 2Pac would end up on 33.5 mill, and of course Eminem more than 24 mill. too.
Seems like Eminem is closing up, and with less albums released...
Not counting 2Pac's underground-releases neither.. or the newly released "Better Dayz"..

Studying Eminems other sales, I might add that it seems to me that Eminem Show will go 9 times plat., but it seems unsure wether he will go diamond or not..
He needs to get another hit, or maybe another boost when his next album is released..

Not counting singles neither......Crossroads = 2.5 mil, 1st of da month = 1.5 mil, Dayz of Our Livez = 1 mil......

How did you come up with that?  Try:

Creepin on ah come up: 2 mill.
East 1999 Eternal: 4 mil
Art Of War: 4 mill.
BTNHresurresction: 1 mil
Thug World Order: Just turned 500k

= 11.5 million

Crossroads = 2 mill., 1st of da month = 500K

And:
2Pac = 33.5 mill.
And if you cut the doubles in half he sold 12.5 mill. copies for the 4 doubles listed.  So he sold 21 mill. copies.  Em already has more.

Eminem is NOWHERE near Pac in sales.....first off all, soundtracks dont count.

Slim Shady LP - 4 million
MMLP - 8 million [almost 9]
Eminem Show - 7 million

thats about 20 million, give or take.

2Pacalypse Now - gold
Strictly 4 My Niggaz - platinum
Thug Life - gold
Me Against The World - 2 million
All Eyez On Me - Diamond
Makaveli - 4 million
R U Still Down - 5 million
Greatest Hits - 9 million [almost Diamond]
Still I Rise - platinum [almost double platinum]
Until The End Of Time - 4 million

thats about 37 million.........and that doesnt include Better Dayz, which is probably tripple platinum by now, and would put Pac at the 40 million mark.

Eminem is nowhere near Pac in sales, and never will be. Pac got that shit on lock, at least as far as rap goes.

Oh, and here are Bone's numbers.....

Creepin On Ah Come Up - 4 million
E.1999 Eternal - 7 million
Art Of War - 5 million
BTNHresurrection - platinum
Thug World Order - about 350 k

dont believe all the numbers you see at RIAA.......alot of the numbers aint been updated in ages. All Eyez On Me is listed there as 9 million, but that shits been past 10 million for over a year now. How do I know all this?? I got a friend who works for SoundScan, and I work at a music store so I talk to reps from the labels that know this shit..........some of RIAA's numbers are fine, but alot of them arent. Remember, lables have to pay for certifications, so alot of albums dont get updated, thus the albums dont look like they've gone up, but indeed have. Alot of Pac's numbers aint updated. Im pretty sure Me Against The World has gone up since its last certification, as has 2Pacalypse Now, R U Still Down, etc etc....

LoL, Eminem-show is 8 mill. and neither GH or AYOM is diamond.
UTEOT is not 4 mill. neither.
No need to change the numbers to make your Pac look better..  ::)

And these are the BNTH-numbers:

Creepin On Ah Come Up - 2 mill.
E.1999 Eternal - 4 mill.
Art Of War - 4 mill.
BTNHresurrection - 1 mill.
Thug World Order - below 500K

(Don't believe a "friend", especially when he's known to favor a certain artist/group..  ::) )
Bone Thugs have not sold more than these numbers, unless some of you haven't bought a few millions yourself. ::)

All Eyez On Me is Diamond, UTEOT is at 4 million [it even says 2 million shipped in the Vibe book, and after you double it, its 4 million]. Its not my opinion, its a FACT. And it has nothing to do with my friend favoring anyone, because he aint even a Tupac fan, or a rap fan period. He likes rock music. But he knows this shit.....he works for SoundScan, who is the most accurate record sales reporter in the world. And it aint just him. I work at a music store, and I talk to reps all the time who know about this shit.

Not only is All Eyez On Me diamond, but its been so for well over a year now. The only reason RIAA still has AEOM listed at 9 million is because Suge hasnt paid for its certification yet...and it still sells a shitload everyday, I wouldnt bey surprised if it was close to 11 million by now.....Greatest Hits is getting damn near close to diamond too, last I saw it was at 9.8 million. Pac will be the first rapper ever to have not one, but TWO, diamond award albums.

and its the same thing with the Bone numbers......them shits have gone up. E.1999 Eternal was at 6 million back in 96', so its easily up to 7 million by now.

In any case, Em aint close to Pac......and never will be. Not as long as Pac keeps releasing albums and selling 3-4 million every time out.
