The start of the movie wasn't filmed at the start. They redone/included those bits later on once they got Robert Englund back. Originally, his agent was asking for too much money, so New Line Cinema thought they could just get any old guy in that they wanted (that it's just a guy in a mask) and later realised that he was nothing like Robert, no posture, attitude or personality like the original Freddy, then eventually gave in and agreed to the amount to get Robert back in.

You'll see the other guy in the shower scene as he walks off after killing the gym teacher (you can't see his face) and notice that he is nothing like the original Freddy. I think they only had 1/2 more segments like that, which were later removed. There's nothing reported on the internet about it. This is from a documentary about the 2nd movie

This is how gay the movie is:

yes, i know the story behind englund demanding a pay raise, but they kept englund after ATTEMPTING to use another freddy, and i dont think they have actual scenes with the impostor freddy in the actual movie, as far as i know. maybe i never heard, gotta check it out.....

and lol@that scene. im not denyin that jess was obviously a fruitcup in the movie, but the clip u posted enhanced the gayness by adding that love music and cutting it up to make it look like they were staring at each other. obviously fake. i agree, the movie is not the best in the series, but it had a lot of the same feel as the original, as opposed to the later sequels, which implemented a whole lot more comedy into the films than the first 2.

There's just the one scene left in the movie where they use the imposter Freddy. That is when he is walking away after killing the gym teacher in the showers - You can't see his face in it, they had intentionally darkened this. This is from the 'Never Sleep Again' documentary, or a another one based on the 2nd movie of the series, can't remember which. But they mock how terrible this guy was, and show that exact scene and describe how he was like a 'robot', and didn't have the same sinister and devious walk or posture as Robert and normailised the Freddy character down, they quickly got Robert Englund back in realising that there could only be one guy for the role. Why they didn't get Robert to re-do the shower scene I do not know. It would have made more sense for the whole 3 seconds that it was

Second is good, and keeps the original things there. The unpredictible creepy Springwood town, the teen high school, the same street. Way different to number 3. I just hope they make the second movie more darker, and Freddy more brutal, and sadastic. It's the only thing to save the series

Agreed.  And while part 2 may not have been the best in the series, imo it was much better than parts 4, 5, and 6.  So, to me, I'd probably rank it the third best in the series.
