will smith's best party jams?
« on: November 25, 2011, 03:00:27 PM »
 8)

so big will went downhill musically around the time of MIB2 with all the hollywood ego stuff but i still think his later stuff is reasonable. but before that he was making some of the funkiest mainstream hits out there. i found myself spinning some of his solo tracks for that feel good vibe more often than not :o 8)

some great use of samples across all this material

thoughts on these tracks, or others for the GOAT list? not including the fresh prince stuff

- miami
- men in black
- gettin' jiggie wid it
- wild wild west
- will 2k

notables

- freakin' it
- nod ya head remix (questionable?)
- switch

Some great samples but the way they've been used is kinda boring not really much different from the original and so long that it's basically just the same melody as the original song.

I'm gonna say Gettin Jiggy Wit It.

Just Cruisin. I don't really fuck with anything past his first solo.

on point. never really liked how he sampled And the beat goes on and Forget Me Nots so blandly. I'd rather listen to the original Whispers and Patrice Rushen songs, which is why i have the original on my ipods and not the will songs.
