Where's Obie Trice?
« on: December 23, 2011, 11:38:35 AM »
Hey anyone have any news on Obie these days? His album's coming, it's not, it is...blah blah

I don't even know why he left Shady to me it makes sense leaving because you don't want to get pushed back but he hasn't released shit so I don't get it.

Anyone?

He released an album after shady. Granted it wasn't new material. It was the album he recorded pre-shady and it's actually pretty damn good, I recommend it.

I'd like to something new as well.

Hes touring in the Heatwave Festival in Australia in Jan with D12, Tech N9ne, Kid Cudi and Chamillionaire
She started letting me and my boys hit together
Me and Pac hit the slot now it's out in the open
Didn't take long, to make her get it on, came on strong
And Thugs Get Lonely Too was our slogan - "TECH N9NE"

I thought Shady Records wasted a lot of energy on Obie Trice.  I don't see how Obie's talents are much better than any of the rappers in D-12.  He may have slightly more talent but talent alone doesn't mean you can put together memorable tracks.  I bet a Kuniva or Swifty solo would of been more memorable than Obie's solo's on Shady

He actually released two albums on Shady and he was def. doper than any of the members of D12, except for Eminem and Proof.

"Good Die Young" >>>>>> any Obie song.

The only Obie track I really felt was "Dope Jobs Homeless".  That was one of the first joints I heard from him so I was a fan right away.  I just was dissapointed when his album finally dropped.  "Shit Hits The Fan" was a great song but he had a lot of help from Em and Dre on that one.  It also didn't have much replay value.

I loved both his albums but cheers was loaded with great songs. The only weak songs were the ones featuring eminem.

Cheers was one of my favs. Didn't like 2nd Round though.

Thanks for the update but who knows if that release date will stick. Not much push for him these days...or any emcee for that matter.
