Don't want to be entangled
When I meet the devil I can mingle
it's when I can't escape that I can't heel
it's when I can't escape that I can't feel
each thought pass in each moment
instead they just fill up my mind till they exploded
So Ive got to keep light
steady, swift on my feet
While walking through a burning middle passage
hot coals on my feet/
the middle passage is burning
rights of passage I have to pass to be me
this fucking middle passage
between the world where I want to be
and the world that was given to me
the world that makes sense
and the world that strips away your innocence
and the world that turns you cold and frozen
your heart gets hardened and lonely
and sensitivity fades
this cold world of snakes at my feet

but to seek freedom one must first seek self
