This is a personal favourite of mine. Mr Mike's solo Wicked Wayz had some classic beats too from Ea-ski. Suave House was the shit back in the day.

Suave House's style at his finest, T-Mix is one of the best Southern producers   doesn't really sound like Death Row G-Funk though, i would compare it to the type of mobb music they were doing in the Bay, especially in Oakland and Vallejo. Songs like New Day or It's Going Down sounds like some Playa Tryna Strive type of shit.

Rap-a-Lot and Suave House and a bunch of other southern labels were on par with Death Row when it came to G-Funk in the 90's.

You're crazy.  Mike sounds like he's rapping shit Snoop and Tha Dogg Pound would say and flow-like in 94-95.  They definitely had to have used the same sound kits as well to, the resemblance is definitely there.  Just listen to the beat on the "Intro" of the album and you can tell Death Row had a heavy influence on them.

you can clearly tell the Bay & the South were fuckin heavily with each other's sound at the time, it's no surprise that E-A SKi went on to produce on Mr Mike's albums after that.

Shiit, the bay had an influence on LA so I believe u.  Too $hort and Digital Underground had everybody rockin in the 80s.  Basically everybody big in Oakland did (aside from 40 and The Click being from Vallejo)

sorry to tell you but you don't know what the fuck you are talking about . the whole south was influenced by the bay . that is fact .  this is not trying to discredit the south at all but telling cold hard facts . the south got their sound from the bay . pimp c has said it many times .the bay was already popping in 1982 while there was no south until late 80's .houston got their sound from the bay just like dallas did . do you even know who ron c is ? i talking about ron c from the bay who moved to dallas .

Alot of people down here don't listen to Ron C plus UGK different from
Houston rap . Dallas also have they own sound hell UGK was influenced by Houston or
Rap A Lot . Pimp was a fan of he Too $hort and Project Pat was his favorite
rappers . Wasn't Ron c the dude that imitated $hort how you gone base that on a total city influence .

all i'm getting at is that the bay & the south had connections that have been mostly ignored & to this day a few recognize, and this was before the South blew up really, i'm not saying the South bit the bay or anything i'm just highlighting the fact that some artists in the South that later blew up nationwide were down with Bay artists and influenced each other. not all local scenes in the south though, but some major players definitely. I mean back in 96 you had Al Kapone & Da Taylor Boys on El Kaye's album outta Richmond. bay artists sold in the ,midwest & the south especially. dallas has its own sound no doubt but people like E-40 have been fucking with Dallas for a long time, and you can even hear Go Hard Black featured on his latest album. but south music has always had its own very different flavors and local scenes and have been innovative, it was a different type of gangsta rap even though there were similarities. but i was talking about the South Circle album specifically though, which sounds very much like some mobbed out Oakland gangsta rap.

the sound is g funk mixed with southern blues nothing more nothing less...t mixx is a trained blues jazz musician with roots in gospel he used to play in blues joints and as a sessions player since his child days...during this time the south DID in fact have a sound. it was called gumbo funk and it was put down by guys like bido and NO joe and evn mike dean and it was pretty popular in its hey day look for that track on AZs doe or die and luniz pimps playa hustlaz and scarfaces diary album as well as 3 2 and ugks early work....it was def the signature new orleans and texas sound in the early and mid 90s
