My history goes deep into the pages of the Ottoman
Used to hang with sages and sufis, study books of Rumi
When I was transported by a geni to the west it confused me
I thought to be large I had to change my identity
So I hid the wisdom and depth from my glorious past
I figured that the lay men couldn't understand that
So I made myself less and guessed that soon success would come
Till I ended up with no moon, no stars and no sun....
Just a chest full of guilt for what Id become
I wrote letters to apologize to all the people Id decieved
Repented to Allah and got down on my knees
He cleaned up my heart and made it pure once again
And showed me visions of my past before I was enchanted by the jinn
Allahu Akbar, I praise you for providing the spiritual touchstone
If its falsehood my heart rejects it, that's how I stand on my own
I ponder the debates of Sufi philosphers of the past
Like is it ever okay to lie, I thought long and hard over that
After pondering, finally the answer came back
