that new cut on the short/e40 album slaps. battlecat is one of the most consistent producers in the game.

The westcoast isn't on top anymore, so from that standpoint, you could argue they all fell off.  But some of these guys, like Daz, Soopafly, Battlecat, DJ Quik, they've been making beats for 20+ years.  At some point doesn't everyone 'fall off'.  Eventually it's gotta start being acceptable.  No one expects an 80 year old man to still be making dope beats do they?  Dre's been making beats for 30 years and maybe in some people's opinion, in 2012 he's fallen off, but isn't that expected?  The guy is like 50 years old, of course he's not going to be making as good of beat as he did when he was in his 20's or even 30's.  Did Nolan Ryan fall off the last few years he played baseball because he couldn't throw pictches as fast as he used to?  Has Joe Montana fallen off because he can't play football in the NFL anymore?  No, these guys are looked at as legends and should be the same way with a lot of the westcoast producers.  Can't keep making dope music forever.  Many of these guys are on the tail end of their careers, so it's expected they aren't going to to turn out bangers on a weekly basis anymore.  I don't see why that comes as a shock or insult to some people.

yup same here, didn't like the song and the beat was kinda boring... a subpar g'd up kinda beat but ppl got worked up cause it sounded "like the good old days"

i think 90% of Westcoast Producers fell off from yesteryear.  I have more faith in the newer Producers/Beat Makers.  I still like stuff from some of tha older cats like BC, Jinx, a Quik beat here, a Chill beat there but for the most part them old cats lost some heat in their flame.  Dre still be havin beats sometimes but its not like we get to hear alotta em.
