Ever hear of Rene Quinton?
He was also an interesting frenchman.
In a totally different field but nevertheless.

His magnum opus was "L'eau de mer milieu organique"

People living in the real world do not fear pork.

It does need to be prepared properly as a very small amount of pigs do contain a parasite that if eaten raw can enter the body. It should be treated with the same caution as poultry.

As for religious reasons, if you base your diet and other significant lifestyle choices off of dated fictional interpretations about the origin of our world, I feel bad for you. I literally am embarrassed for you.

The old adage "you are what you eat" refers to eating well and living well and vice versa. The human body needs protein and fat, and pork provides both those in plenty. Responsible consumption of pork along with other animal based proteins will help you sustain health. The key word there is responsible, if you gorge yourself on anything you will be unhealthy, let's not single out one animal, that is silly.

I can't say I'm surprised people are opposed to pork for health and religious reasons, there are misguided people everywhere. Let's not demonize it though, then turn around and eat something from McDonalds or processed candy or alcohol and act like we are still doing ourselves a favor by cutting out pork.

I wouldn't classify the Mcrib as pork.

Btw, apparently the Japanese have discovered how to "grow" steak from feces.

You should do what you think is best for you.
Those statistics is based on averages. I am an analist, so I know a few things about statistics, averages does not tell you the complete picture.
I think our grandparents had it much better then we now.
The food was healthier, the air was cleaner and their life quality was better espacially when your were older (in comparison to now.)

But they died from measly infections. ;)

Being born in the fifties in Germany must have been nice according to my parents. Time of the Wirtschaftswunder, living standards started improving and kept doing so for at least two decades. They even believed they could change society for the better! Nowadays my father always says that he's glad he doesn't have to witness what future holds for us. Ha, the road to happiness is definitely not paved with critical thinking.

I like that you acknowledge pork chops for what they are: shits.
Enjoy your shits and give my kind regards to your mother.
