It was a great site.  Connected to a very reputable underground hip-hop site.  It had weekly updates that were often done by Paul Rosenberg.  They would drop a lot of exclusive info, about shows like the one he did with Nas where he got injured, or info on upcoming tracks, they even mentioned Em was working with Mark45King on a track that was going to be a MONSTER way before "Stan" was ever released.  They dropped exclusive audio...

It was real personal site for serious headz.  Later, they updated the site and made it much more watered down and general.  Catering to a wider audience.  But fans from back in the day might remember the old site.

This was back in the day when I first started using the internet.  I was still in highschool using my parents computer.  I would go online nearly everyday just to check out 3 sites.  Snoopsdogghouse, Eminem's official site, and dreday.com.    I think Dreday came a little later and SnoopsDogghouse came before all of them.  I was on that shit regularly as far back as 98.

oh shit, i remember "Real audio"    lmao

GangstaBoogy

I wasn't much of a fan but I do remember that. I wish artist and their managers would do that today instead of posting their shoes and champagne on twitter all damn day.

I remember Kurupt's old site right before Space Boogie dropped. They had a version of "The Hardest Muthafuckas" which had just Nate Dogg, MC Ren, and 2 verses from Kurupt. I had it on a cd, let someone borrow it, and have NEVER heard / found that version again.

that's dope.. two members who were regulars at Snoopsdogghouse.

...yeah, nearly everyday I would check for updates even though they would go weeks without updating.  Our sources on hip-hop news were really limited in those days.  Either MTV, BET, or rap magazines like Source, XXL, Rap Pages, Blaze, Murder Dog... they were doing their thing at that time.  Rap magazines were dope back then, but still they were monthly issues.

So..you had monthly issues of magazines, often the news was late and all those sources would not report and offer in depth analysis of a each and every move Snoop Dogg made, or offer much more than a tiny review of a Bad Azz album.  Here was a site that was dedicated to that shit.   It was a big deal and it was my first days ever using the internet.
