Trying to group himself with the old heads. Nigga is the OG of the new age.

He's just mad that small ball = more speed on the court defending him.

KOBE IS ACTUALLY THE VERY LAST OF A DYING BREED. PLAYS AN OLD-SCHOOL, GRIND IT OUT, FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND STYLE OF BASKETBALL, UNLIKE THE CURRENT SUPERSTARS....HE'S MORE FROM THE SHAQ-WEBBER-KIDD-MOURNING ERA THAN THE LEBRON-WADE-DURANT-BOSH ERA, SO HE DEFINITELY HAS A RIGHT TO SPEAK ON IT.

lol, he played like six of his seventeen years with that group & he was nothing more than a "rising star" until '00-'01.

Kobe flourished from the new style & hasn't said anything for over a decade until some old heads came out & spoke on it & he wanted to fit in with them and hope to be seen in the eyes of nostalgia.

Also just trying to make some headlines from the sideline.

Gotta love the man that has his 2 highest Per Game Scoring AND his 4 Highest FTA/Game averages AFTER the hand-checking rule changed would complain about it.

Kobe played 2 years off the bench. Those were the last 2 real Jordan years. That's when the NBA changed. Barkley, Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson etc. were all starting to fade. Kobe came in and played a role at the very tail end of the best era in Basketball.

Kobe's game is just not meant for a stretched floor. He's not a reliable enough shooter from deep to be a real threat in that system.

Back then teams like Boston, Philly, NJ, Dallas etc

All used stretch players in their line up. Guys like Walker, Coleman, Van Horn, Dirk etc. who could step out and take a 3 or long range 2.

Kill yourself.

u gotta stop jockin my posting style and come wit ur own, my son

and good job, u just named a bunch of eastern conference teams, some who werent even contenders at the time. still, philly and new jersey (the 2 teams lakers faced in the finals) were not "finesse" teams......and fact remains, the nba was much more of a grind-it-out league in the early 2000's- only a gay guy who watches sports in order to disguise his homosexuality would argue against that :camp:

Haha. Man. You love to avoid fact. I named 3 EC teams and Dallas. Philly made the Finasl, NJ made the Finals, Boston was in the ECF in 01-02. A '"bunch of East Conference teams" makes it seem like I named the Bulls or Hawks. These were all teams that had success trotting out Stretch 4's. 2 out of the 3 Laker repeat seasons, Dallas was a 50 win team. Any other excuses?

The NBA was transitioning from 2 Bigs in the paint, slow down offense to a faster pace with more emphasis on stretching the floor. Hell, even look at the Pacers who played L.A. in the 2000 Finals. They had shooters all around, Miller, Jackson, Croshere, Perkins, Best, Mullins... Perkins and Croshere were their stretch players.

Only a closet homosexual who watches sports in order to disguise his homosexuality would argue against that.
