If the Lakers got a top draft pick, for sure Jeanie would talk Jim into firing D'Antoni.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. Phil's return to Lakerland is pretty much dependent on us making moves in the right direction, including getting a top draft pick and signing quality players. He's not going to go to the Knicks. They wasted their amnesty on Chauncey, they wasted their future on Carmelo (including this year's first round draft pick), they have nothing to look forward to.

Yo Sccit... Among my predictions, that have so far been proven right, was that the Lakers would never be good as long as Dantoni was there coach.  Also, there's a lot of egos in L.A., and it may take a legendary figure like Jackson to eclipse them.

INFINITE, DO U EVEN KNOW WHAT U SAYIN HOMIE? LOL. SERIOUSLY. LIKE I SAID BEFORE, I KNOW U WANTED THE LAKERS TO FAIL THIS YEAR, BUT WE DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE IN HELL WIT HOW SHITS GONE DOWN....LETS SEE THE LIST OF INJURIES ALL SEASON:

KOBE
NASH
XAVIER
BLAKE
YOUNG
FARMAR
MEEKS
PAU
KAMAN

ALL THESE PLAYERS HAVE BEEN INJURED AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER, AND MOST OF EM BEEN OUT FOR A GOOD PORTION OF THE SEASON. IT'S GONE ON RECORD AS THE WORST INJURY RIDDLED SEASON IN LAKER HISTORY.

BUT YEA, MIKE D'ANTONI IS A TERRIBLE COACH...IT'S JUST THAT WE NEVER HAD A CHANCE 2 BEGIN WITH ONCE EVERY1 STARTED GOIN DOWN, SO DONT COME UP IN HERE LIKE "I TOLD U SO" ON THAT BS. WE ALL KNOW D'ANTONI IS THE WORST, BUT KOBE IS STILL GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE LAKERS A LEGIT TEAM IF WE HAD A FULL SQUAD TO PLAY WITH ALL SEASON.

injures are a part of sports....so is being a good front office and building depth on your roster.

hopefully for your sake the franchise will apologize to the entire fan base for the Kobe contract, for signing Steve Nash and for not trading Pau Gasol while he still had some decent trade value.  that will show ownership of their fuckups and then they'll announce that they are handing the reigns over to Jeanie Buss lol

A few points...

1.  First of all, I'm still a Lakers fan

2.  You even agreed with me Dantoni sucks, so I don't know why my post pissed you off so much

3.  I don't think injuries is a fair excuse.  I mean... look at Jordan.  Homie said he got injured his second season and from that experience he learned how to take care of his body and also how to avoid injury.  Somehow the great ones find a way to stay out there.  Not saying Kobe isn't great.  He's the second greatest behind Jordan.   But even Jordan when he played for the Wizards he started getting injured again after being injury free for so many years.  Bottom line is Kobe has played too many games in the NBA and his body has finally ran down on him.   He's such a competitor he could never take on a Ray Allen type of role and just turn himself into a spot up three point specialist, so he's gonna continue to pound it in there like he is 22 years old and he will not earn the last two years of his contract.  The only way the contract works is if you say it was a gift to him in return for all his previous years and how much he has meant to the franchise.
