I'm gonna to attend San Francisco State University this fall & shit, tryin 2 do professional Recording Engineering.....And to meet tha Financial Aide requirements, I need to take 12 units a semester which is like Full Time I suppose......

Now I just wanted to know how much time does 12 units take? How many dayz a week usually & how much studies? I mean, Can I still Work, Go to tha studio, Hustle these cds & kick it on da block?

1 class = 3 credit hours(usually)

you gotta be full time to get financial aid. i usually take 4 classes

trust me you'll have plenty time to do other shit along with having to go to school. you don't even have to go to classes, just turn in all your work ontime and take all the tests, the only setback maybe is that you have to study for tests. you go to school 12 hours a week which is way less than in high school which is like 40 hours a week

i havent been to college myself. well yea i have but i wasnt enrolled i just walked into classes, lol, but my cousins been goin for like 8 years, lmao, and yeah i know quite a bit from him, the thing is, it doesnt matter if u go to classes if you know your shit,

 its not like high school where if u dont show up u fail, the class is just there to help you, your grade is all about the tests. and so most the time, my cousin just goes to class to learn what he doesnt know, and if the teachers reviewing some old shit, he just leaves.

man you will have time for all that shit.  college is just a game man, u just gotta know the tricks.  You learn a lot more in life rather than in a classroom.  You would be dumb spending hours and hours everyday studying and shit, because their is definately more productive and better things to do.  Example: if you got a chance to go do something really great or make some money or something, but u may have to study for a test or go to class, I say fuck school and go do the other thing.  I have never gotten the best grades, only 1 A, but only 1 D and no F's.  All C's and B's.  And I slacked like a mutha fucka man.  I am gonna graduate in june from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with a degree in business finance.  It's not as hard as people make it out to be.  But it depends on your major and shit too.  Engineering majors are probably harder than business majors IMO.  u can do it, just learn the tricks.  Here is one trick:  Books are expensive as hell man, really think about if ya gonna read it.  I wasted a lot of money on books.  Always buy used, older editions are way cheaper and hardly any different from newer versions, and buy them online if u can.  If I would have known what I know now back when I first started college, I could have easily saved at least $1000 just on books.

12 units aint shit...its the bare minimum like u heard...lol I shud be the last person to tell u that...this quarter I took 14 units and dropped one class(4 units) so I jus passed with 10   But seriously with 12 units U gunna have enuff time to do shit unless the classes u taking are like calculus/biology for medicine majors/physics for engineering...lol...but hard or not U gottta stay focused..I would recommend U to goto classes/discussions cuz personally a big reason for my fuckups in college has been my not attending classes/being lazy...see if u attend classes, even if u jus listen and dont take notes...u still get some of that material in ur head...so when u study later shit makes a lot more sense. peace

You have to go to every class...take notes...record that shit if the Prof. speaks too fast
Because most of the time Exams include lecture and book notes....you know that...legend

3rd year Computer Science major here
only need 1 more semester to graduate
[I took a shitload of Ap classes for college and passed all the test....+15 units semester and 1 or 2 summer classes and I work 16 hours a week

hopefully I will be programming some PS3, PS4 games after I graduate or whatever makes me cash

12 UNIT should be ok for your first semester
take 1 summer class(easy A) at a community college
then you have 15 units check with SFSU to check out all the transferable courses...they cheap too

Genreal Education classes are easy A and B classes
basicly your 13th and 14th grade of high school

Your Major Classes for (Professional Recording Engineering)probably start off easy but get harder as the course numbers increase.....like every other [real major]
You spend more time studying for Real Majors.

[Real Major] = jobs were starting off pay is more than $65,000/yr. in most cases/you make a shitload of money  science/engineering/medicial majors and some others

College is a game...if you have a weak major like Business Finace (lol) or Sociology

Rodzilla you just have to figure out the best class schedule for yourself....a mix of GE's and Major class

so you won't be screwed in your 3rd and 4th year.

summer session classes are best for those hard ass classes.....for example -Physics
you get better grades in Summer
because you only have 1 class to focus on...its really cool

Make sure you talk to your Major Advisors soon...months before you have to do your schedule.....you don't want to waste extra time in college
