Johnny J's material past 2003 sucked. I heard the Napoleon album and one of the reasons I suspect they never put it out was because it was terrible. It was like a poorly constructed pop album with Napoleon coming with some of the weakest raps I had ever heard. I'm glad it remains buried

I have a great deal of respect for Johnny J and think he done some terrific work, but that rough raw signature sound that moulded perfectly with 2Pac during the 90's was lost in the 2000's. We over-exaggerate his talents. The reason for that is due to him being the man responsible for a large body of work when 2Pac seeked a beat maker capable of providing him with a quick skeleton to rap over so we kind of associate 2Pac with Johnny J, and those 2 as being one in the same for his Death Row work. To you or I, they sound good. I love the rough raw unpolished sound with the added guitar strings, but from a label point of view, there's no way they would put them out. I think this is where the likes of Daz, QD3 and Big-D were a lot better. Just look at Daz's (& Mike Deans) remix work in that period compared to the likes of Johnny J's and you'll see what I mean. Daz can still put out audibly sound material, whereas Johnny J's sounds too cheap and easy computer created

90 percent of them are standard youtube rips of whizz, klockwork, and d-ace.

Look at the Makaveli & Dillinger LP, and compare it to some of Johnny J's work around that time - A lot of UTEOT beats were terrible. First 2 Bomb was a breath of fresh air, so much so that people wanted Daz to produce the next 2Pac album over Johnny J. Thank god for Frank Nitty & Jazzy Phay. Would be good if you could get in touch with Boot camp clik, discuss some of the production around that time too to get a clearer idea of where he was going.

I have always had the feeling that 2Pac was dumping Johnny J, not in the sinister sense, but moving on to different sounds. He was keen to work more with QD3, plus the Makaveli album production team. I mean how much did he work with Shock G during Interscope, or Mike Mosley / Tony Pizarro on Death Row

Can you compile a .rar of them?  Those are some nice laid back remixes with some jazz.
