A Wife In The War
« on: March 31, 2003, 11:41:54 AM »
look at the men on the frontline, re-tracing his bloodline
back through almost twelve years, we were here before
another Gulf War, and the man delved deep into his tears
then, he recognises his fears as the gunfire whizzes overhead
realisation that this aint a videogame, this is real life
and he could end up dead
so as he sits amoungst the press trying to maintain, not show the stress
he imagines his baby girl at home, shes a newborn
and shes never known who her Daddy is and what hes doing
the mother gets pictures and beings viewing the funeral in her own mind
but she cant speak, deosnt have anyone who she can confide
so she sits, crying at night..
cursing hussain & bush for starting this fight
and despite the re-assurance of the Ministery Of Defence
she cant help but watch the news in suspense, hoping her man will be there
out of the blue, a letter arives from Iraq..

'My Darling Wife'

it begins..

'I wish god would take me away form this place, repent my sins
watching my comrads die, seeing pure fear in the eyes
thats no life for a family man like I'

The woman begins to cry, and cant read on
because of the newsfalsh, her husband, he's gone

The Titans, also known as the elder gods, ruled the earth before the Olympians overthrew them. The ruler of the Titans was Cronus who was de-throned by his son Zeus. Most of the Titans fought with Cronus against Zeus and were punished by being banished to Tartarus

This piece is poetry at it's finest.  Deep and touching, I was feelin this all the way through.  Was very well done.

Big PROPS to HHP...

PS: I knew that name would fit you perfectly!
