"Kobe was closing out those games" LMAO. So Melo, T-Mac & Iverson were incapable of scoring late in games? They just never did it on that stage because they weren't privileged enough to play with Shaq, the Laker cast & have Phil coach.

none of those players are on kobe's level, and you already know this.....lol. just stop.

Because you're judging careers on how it went down. Kobe is a better player. But that doesn't mean Melo or T-Mac couldn't have watched Shaq dominate for 43 minutes & then hit some open jump shots late in the game when they tripled Shaq.

Kyrie & Love are perfect examples of their situation. Hypothetically, but realistically the Cavaliers could win it all 2 out of the next 3 years. If that happens, we're gonna look at them a whole lot differently than the shun we'd give to them that we give Melo if they were stuck on shitty franchises for the next 15 years.

You have high hopes for Westbrook going to LA, if he goes there for seven years, never lures anybody to join him & they never win, but he's putting up 20-25 triple doubles a season, playing like he just did the second half of the year, you going to say John Wall is a better player if the Wizards scrapped one out in the next seven years?

u obviously didnt watch basketball back then......kobe was typically the one being doubled and tripled, opening the lane for shaq. by the time he turned 21, many people (including shaq) already were sayin that kobe was the best player in the world......considering u admit kobe is a better player than the ones u mentioned, and considering lakers barely squeezed by the kings and blazers, it's safe to say that vince carter would not have equaled kobe's output to the point where lakers woulda threepeated. lol@the way u downplay kobe, "he let shaq go to work for 43 minutes and hit open clutch shots at the end", like he was robert horry or some shit...naah, son. check this graphic:

and on top of that, none of the players u mentioned were even close to kobe as far as the defensive end goes...and kobe always guarded the best perimeter player on the opposing team, which also heavily contributed to the threepeat. so fall back with ur retard logic, if u may.

lol, that's always your go-to graphic. The 2001 "playoffs", not Finals. Despite that was arguably the worst Finals Kobe ever played & they swept everyone besides the 76ers for one game; in a series where Shaq completely outshined Kobe. The Kings series is the only reason those stats are even close & that's because Shaq had to deal with Webber & Divac, still put up 33 in the series & Kobe was being manned by Christie & Peja lol.

So yeah, I still firmly believe Melo could of walked on to that team & at least ran through 2001, maybe losing a couple more games, if that.

Iverson was regarded as a better player because people understood what I was talking about above. The privilege of your situation. Shaq was the man in LA, Kobe was the benefactor of that. Iverson was a one man show. It wasn't until LeBron came around & proclaimed the NBA his kingdom until angry, biased fans like yourself started throwing the "ring argument" into the conversation. But then contradict yourself when the hardware doesn't add up. Like how Duncan has more hardware. But that just goes to show that argument was created solely to defend Kobe over LeBron. Because that's literally the only time, outside of Jordan & those two, that it ever makes a difference in an argument comparing any two players.

Kobe was literally 1 spot above being Darrell Armstrong status in 2000 when Shaq was unanimous MVP

yet NIK wants you to think Kobe was the better player  ;D

shaq had seniority, obviously it was his team first.....but as far as skill goes, we talkin about the greatest duo in NBA history. despite shaq's seniority and kobe taking a back seat, his output still matched shaq's, which is an amazing feat in its own. just took a back-seat to feed shaq's tremendous ego and still put up 30 ppg, like godamn.......and how u guna take mvp voting into consideration? lmao. the fact that shaq was viewed as the head of the team means that kobe wasnt even in consideration for mvp during those years.. all them votes went to shaq....but u put kobe on the t-wolves instead of garnett, and those votes are goin to kobe,. its situational.......still shaq was already declaring kobe the best in the world by 2001 PLAYOFFS (after mvp voting took place)......and believe me, he wasnt alone in that.

By his own law & standards, he's not even at the liberty to second guess this.

Logic's a bitch with this guy lol.

so that's the logic we are using???????

Oscar - Kareem must be the best duo then.  Don't want that?  Then Magic - Kareem.

I was going by 6 titles in 7 years, something no other non-Celtics duo has ever done before.

oscar-kareem would be a good one, but they only won 1 title...kobe>oscar, kareem>shaq.. so it is close.

magic-kareem is the 2nd best duo imo, but i got no beef wit any1 puttin them first, as they did win 5....the difference being that they also had james worthy, who had actually surpassed kareem by the late 80s....so that was more of a big 3 than a dynamic duo.
