The first music that really grabbed me in my earliest memories was stuff like Phil Collins, Cindy Lauper, and Richard Marx.  I remember there was this mysterious house off in the woods, and we used to think we were like the Goonies after hearing Cindy Lauper "Good Enough".   My other earliest memory was being at karate class when I was 5, and one of the top black belt students did a performance at a seminar, a kata (form) to Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight".   Then when I was 6 I was with my big cousin and tried to write my first song.  It was basically just copying Richard Marx "Right Here Waiting For You".  That's the stuff that really grabbed me as a kid.

Loads of different stuff

Tears For Fears, Electric Light Orchestra, Alexander O'Neal, Pet Shop Boys, Luther Vandross etc etc.

My old ladys got an quality vinly collection from the 70's. Stuff like, Oddysey, 10cc, The Eagles, Beach Boys, Isley Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire

Then i grew up around the House music boom in the late 80's and early 90's, everybody was into that where i lived.

I found my own thing around 1994 with Hip Hop but around 2004 i started to fall out with Hip Hop as i did not like
the direction it was going so i went back to House music
