First single and music video from Compton by Dr. Dre?
« on: August 07, 2015, 08:45:03 AM »
To me, it's GONE (not darkside part, only gone part) or IT'S ALL ON ME are best songs on album.

but i think they will shoot video for SATISFACTION.

there is no real classic song on album to shoot a video for to catch everyone's attention on earth. for example loose cannons is a nice song but do you think they will play it on radio all around the world? no!

just vote and let's see expectations.

this is not a poll for best song on album. think about the first single of album that will be released with a promotional music video.

I guess Satisfiction would make a radio friendly single..
As for street single/video I guess "Talk About It", "Loose Cannons", Darkside/Gone" or "Issues" would be dope.. hard to choose though, I bet we will see several singles/videos.

I think it would be 1 of the Snoop tracks or Ice Cube track. If we get a video.

They probably won't pick it for marketing reasons, but I feel the one that could put Dre back into the spotlight again is Animals. It kinda fits the mood in the US right now.

It's catchy and I can see it getting played on the radio.

Also...anything featuring Eminem or Kendrick Lamar would have the most commercial appeal now.

This is quite impossible i guess but to me Darkside/Gone should be the first single. Why? To me the album starts from this song. We listen to a lot of rap records in the office that i run. My employees are young hip hop heads who weren't raised on Dre so obviously they are able to listen to the record without that nostalgia feeling that i have. We were bumping Compton yesterday. Cats didn't really looked like they were feeling the record until Darkside/Gone dropped. They were all like "damn... this shit is great!". And from this point i was pleased to see how much they liked the record. One Shot One Kill was another track that made them stop working for a while because they were feeling it so much.

Gone would be dope as fuck but I feel like the eerie subject matter makes it not very commercial friendly. With how pussy the mainstream is today, if Dre does select it, then he truly does not give a fuck.

Then again, he made artwork for Loose Canons, which is way crazier, so who knows.

Dre is famous for not putting out the most commercial track as the first single. Not surprised at the first selection. It's a street classic that with enough radio play will be a commercial success. Then I expect the Eminem track or a Kendrick track, more than likely Eminem then Kendrick. I hope to hear Animals on the radio soon, I am loving that track. This album though can support a few singles and I think once Paak Anderson is ready to drop, Animals will be a single setting him up.
