 Emcees Mikah 9, Self Jupiter, Aceyalone and P.E.A.C.E., collectively known as Freestyle Fellowship, are legendary in the global underground. Although each member has released solo projects (and have what it takes to remain solo) they still come together to create as a group.
 
 
 
2) Nia - Blackalicious
 These cats have been on the scene for over a decade and get major respect around the globe. They were able to sell over a hundred thousand albums on their independent label, Quannum, before cutting a deal with MCA.  
 
 
3) Do It The Way You Feel It - Medusa and Feline Science
Not only is this sista a cross between Chuck D, George Clinton and MeShell NdegeOcello, but she also won the Rap Sheet Emcee World Championship and is one of the most respected and enduring hip-hop underground artists.
 
 
 
4) Accepted Eclectic- Aceyalone
Of the Freestyle Fellowship crew, founding member Aceyalone is no doubt the most prolific in terms of a solo career.
 

 
 
5) Composition No. 1 - L.A. Symphony
This is the debut album from a group known for their Christian vibe and talented members including the off-the-hook Pigeon John.
 
 

 
 

6) Mind Over Matter - Zion I
These cats hooked up at Atlanta's Morehouse College, but shortly relocated to the Bay Area where they proceeded to turn the underground on it's ear. They are known for their highly spiritual lyrics and dynamic stage presence.
 

 
 
 
7) The Last Stand - Planet Asia
This Fresno-born artist as been blowing up lovely over the past couple of years. He's gotten much love from the hip-hop community at large including Sway and King Tech (The Wake-Up Show), who spotlighted him on their compilation, This or That.

This Hieroglyphics crew member's debut album, Fear Itself is considered an underground hip-hop classic.
 
 

 
 
9)Trilogy: Conflict, Climax, Resolution - Souls Of Mischief
Known for their diversity of styles and consisting of members Tajai, Opio, Phesto and A-Plus, Souls Of Mischief is considered the most well-known clique from the Hieroglyphics crew.
 
 

 
10) Both Sides Of The Brain - Del The Funky Homosapien (aka Deltron Zero)
Leader of the Hieroglyphics crew which includes members Souls of Mischief, Casual and Pep Love, Del started out writing rhymes for his cousin Ice Cube.

Absract Rude is a good MC from the Left also. He is underground but still has a huge fan base within fans of the genre.

3. Tha Dogg Pound - Dogg Food (probably favourite album ever)

4. 2pac - All Eyex On Me (listened to this constantly for over 12 months)

5. Cypress Hill - Temples of Boom (totaly awesome album)

6. Tha Eastsidaz - Duces and Trays (great, great, GREAT album. Don't sleep)

7. Dr Dre - 2001 (classic)

8. Warren G - G Funk Era (so smooth)

9. The Coup- Genocide & Juice (CLASSIC!!!! Get this album!!!!)
