Faith Evans and Snoop Dogg are going back to the well to crank out more music ... this time for an homage to Notorious B.I.G.

Faith is recording "The King and I" for her late husband ... and she invited Snoop to join her in studio on Wednesday to record a track.

No word on what song they're doing, but this session comes 5 years after their last song together, "Way You Move."

Faith is underrated. Was just listening to her on Scarface's Classic "Someday" about a week ago.
