With his dominant stoppage victory over Andrei Arlovski, Dutch striking powerhouse Alistair Overeem has punched his ticket to a fight for the UFC heavyweight championship. The title is currently in possession of Fabricio Werdum, who will defend it against Stipe Miocic at UFC 198 this weekend.

For Overeem, it doesn't matter who of the two will emerge victorious and go on to face him next, although he admits that him and Werdum have their share of history together.

"I think as a champion you need to be willing to fight everybody. I have that mentality, may the best man win. I do have some unsettled business with Werdum, we're one and one, even though I beat him the last time," Overeem said during a backstage interview with ufc.com. He lost to Werdum in Pride in 2006, but avenged that loss 5 years later with a unanimous decision win during the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

"Both prove interesting challenges," the 35-year old striking expert continued to weigh in on his two possible next opponents. "They're different, but may the best man win. I'll be ready for whatever."

Overeem stated that he plans to be back in the gym by today. Werdum and Miocic are headlining UFC 198 this Saturday in Curitiba, Brazil.
